Peter Kennedy has over 35 years of experience in managing corporate and mission hospitals in India and overseas.

With a master’s degree in hospital management from Leeds University, UK, through Leeds Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development, and with another post graduate qualification in hospital administration from CMC (Christian Medical College), Vellore, Peter had prepared himself well for a long and proven career in healthcare.  

Having earned a Master’s in Social Work (HR) from one of India’s prestigious institutions, Loyola College of Chennai, and also an MBA, in Marketing and Business Development, he has become an ideal member, now, in the leadership of this dynamic 120-year-old American Mission Hospital in Bahrain lead by Dr. George Cherian, CCEO.

His career has taken him through leadership positions in many healthcare institutions including India’s Christian mission hospitals as well as the renowned Apollo Hospitals Group. Previous to taking up this role at AMH, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Ibn Al Nafees Hospital in Bahrain.

Peter says he’s glad to be a part of the great organizational culture; where passionate people, with a clear purpose and with strong principles, work together to accomplish the organization’s mission.

Small things matters most, he says. How we make our patients feel, with the delivery of excellent service is a critical factor. Along with the latest technology, we need to also have the right attitude of service that we must show with perseverance and hard work. Peter’s unfailing courtesy and forbearance are highly appreciated by his fellow colleagues as he is a patient leader with great tolerance towards his employees.

For organizations to be successful, Peter believes that - as Jim Collins says in his book, Good to Great – it is important that, as employees, we are deeply passionate in doing what we are doing and in striving to be the best in the world, in whatever we are good at. And then, our dreams will be accomplished.
