Neonatology
As a subspecialty of Pediatrics, Neonatology, consists of medical care of newborn infants, especially the ill or premature newborn. It is a hospital-based specialty and usually practised in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs).

At our A'Ali branch (KHAMH), we have a full fledged department, with 18 NICU beds. Our Ob-Gyn or our pediatrics doctors can give you more information if you need, about the services offered.

If a newborn is premature, or has a serious illness, injury, or birth defect, our neonatologist(s) may assist you at the time of delivery and in the subsequent care of your newborn. In the event of any problem being identified in the baby before your baby is born, a neonatologist may become involved to consult with your obstetrician to help in your baby’s care during your pregnancy; and even after delivery and soon-after.

Our Neonatologist Dr Jemila James can be consulted on this subspecialty of Pediatrics
